Description
TJX’s entrepreneurial spirit and intelligent risk-taking has made us the world’s largest off-price retailer with $20 billion in revenues. Our Company has one of the most flexible business models in the world and great financial strength as a Fortune 200 company. TJX has over 2,800 stores and regional offices around the globe, including our Corporate Office located just outside Boston, MA. Our off-price concepts include T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and A.J. Wright in the United States; Winners, HomeSense and STYLESENSE in Canada; and T.K. Maxx and HomeSense in Europe.
Our full-time training program offers long-term opportunities in Planning, Buying, and Executive Management. The program is based out of our Corporate Office where most of our associates experience tremendous career growth, and many take advantage of TJX’s growing domestic and global opportunities to work in our NYC or Los Angeles buying offices, as well as our UK or Germany offices. TJX teaches you how to run the business from behind the scenes and is the perfect fit for someone who wants to be a key business driver, make impactful decisions and see the results of everything you do.
Getting to the heart of our business should not take forever, as an intern you will have an opportunity to learn first hand about corporate retailing at TJX. Interns are placed in Planning & Allocation or Buying, where you will learn how to run an off-price business from behind the scenes. From day one, there is on-the-job and classroom training to learn about the business and the specifics of Merchandising. Throughout the internship you will have many opportunities to network as well as interact with Executives.
Responsibilities will vary, but may include: analyzing sales reports and financial data, creating or updating allocation strategies for product classifications, allocating merchandise to the stores, accompanying Buyers on vendor visits, working with Product Development, visiting stores to analyze our product mix and the competition’s, and communicating and resolving merchandise issues with Distribution Centers, Buyers, or Vendors.
Interns are placed within our Corporate Office or in our satellite buying offices in NYC and Los Angeles. Our program allows you to develop your analytical, strategic, decision making and problem solving skills, all of which are necessary to successfully drive a business. Although the selection process is very competitive, many of our interns have received offers for another internship or to join TJX full-time after graduation. We are looking for Sophomores and Juniors who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment, have proven leadership abilities and the ability to work with numbers while thinking creatively.
TJX is an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace diversity.
